We need to pass Prop 63 It will improve our communities by providing more dollars for much needed mental health services

"We need to pass Prop. 63.  It will improve our communities by providing more dollars for much needed mental health services."

Proposition 63—the Mental Health Services Act—will generate $600-800 million a year to improve and expand mental health services. Prop. 63 establishes a one-percent surtax after THE FIRST MILLION DOLLARS OF wealthy Californians earning more than one million dollars annually.

Prop. 63 will:

  • Address the chronic under funding of mental health services.
  • Expand comprehensive care in the community for children and adults.
  • Increase mental health counseling and care through the "integrated services" model by stressing early intervention and prevention.
  • Provide services to persons and families without insurance.
  • Save hundreds of millions of dollars in medical, jail, and societal costs by treating mental illness earlier and more effectively.
